Antigua romantic getaway

The Cooper and Lumber Store Hotel in the historic Nelson's Dockyard area of Antigua is actually a restored historic warehouse dating back to the days when Horatio Nelson's English Navy ruled the seas. It is a very romantic and personal feel with just fourteen rooms nestled in lush Caribbean foliage. The hotel is ideal for a destination wedding or a honeymoon. The staff is equally friendly, and as the old saying goes nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are quite spacious with its contemporary and studios and suites, and it's Georgian Studios and Suites with each unit has its own kitchen. Each suites or studio is named after one of nelsons ships. The Georgian style furnishings are offset by modern day comforts. The hotel has two restaurants opened for breakfast and lunch.

Because the hotel is directly on the dockyard there is plenty to do and see without leaving the area, but it would be nice to rent a car to go around the rest of the island. No need to worry about safety, because the entire dockyard area is well secured. Although the hotel does not offer an all inclusive package, there is enough restaurant in the area to complement any palate. Some recommendations are The Admirals Inn, Calabash, Le Cap Horn, and The Inn at English Harbor to name just a few.

If it's a wedding you're planning the Georgian court yard will be an ideal setting for the occasion. That part of Antigua is a very romantic and intimate part of the island. The hotel staff will be more than happy to accomodate your guest weather it's two or two hundred people. No details will be left out. The hotel's location is also ideal for honeymooning couples with it's romantic sceanery, and secluded location. Beaches abound the area, and if you are interested in Naval history then you should definitely consider going to The Cooper and Lumber Inn.

Weather it's a romantic getaway, destination wedding, honeymoon, aniversary, or a just because you should consider booking a stay at the Cooper and Lumber Inn in the beautiful island of Antigua.
